October 29, 2008: Leo comes to us from a Victoria, TX shelter. He is a bit overweight, but has lovely temperment. He is about 8 years old. His owner turned him in. Owner is on the elderly side and was no longer able to care for Leo properly. Leo is HW pos and will be available after treatment. He also needs some dental work. He had been eating a diet high in starchy stuff like bread and corn. We will see what effect a good diet will have on him. He's already neutered and utd on vacs. Update January 31, 2009: Leo has completed his HW treatment is is doing really well. He is very sweet and gentle, and has a look of gratitude in his eyes. He appreciates the good food he is getting and no longer seems worried that he might not get any. He gets along with the 3 cats in the foster home, and the three other rescue dogs.
